Artefact is the first complete statement of Implant Soul.
It was built piece by piece, with different musicians entering the project and leaving their own mark on it. There was no attempt to make the music fit into a particular genre or follow a familiar structure. The only rule was to let the ideas develop wherever they needed to go.
The album is heavy, unpredictable, dissonant and at times deliberately uncomfortable. But underneath all of that is something more personal, a record about fragments, memory, violence, beauty and the things that remain after everything else has been stripped away.
Artefact is not meant to be easy. At times it’s like walking on the edge of an abyss.
It is something left behind.
